Family Crisis Intervention
Volunteers of America, Dakotas' Family Crisis Intervention Program is a prevention and early intervention program. It diverts youth and their families from involvement with the Juvenile Justice System by providing immediate crisis intervention at the time and place of a family dispute. Early intervention aims at resolving problems before they become major. FCIP staff will provide services in tandem with local law enforcement, and the referral source, to prevent further involvement of the youth into the Juvenile Justice System.
Specifically, the FCIP aims to reduce the number of youth who are removed from their homes for status offenses. This program also works to prevent family problems from escalating into further involvement with the Juvenile Justice System.
There is a 24/7 cell number for participant use as well: (605) 380-8023.
