Volunteers of America’s Vocational Training Services provides a structured setting to build daily living skills, social skills, employment skills and work experience for individuals from the community who are referred to the program.

The program assists, trains, and evaluates participants on variety of skill areas including:

Personal safety, money management, computer skills, personal hygiene, attendance, task completion, attitude towards work, the ability to take direction from supervisors, interviewing, filling out applications, and writing a resume. Staff assists individuals with obtaining and maintaining a competitive job in the community. Once participants are placed in the community, staff provides case management for a minimum of ninety days to ensure a successful placement in the community.

Participants may choose to work in a variety of employment areas, including: store clerks, cashiers, production, warehouse, clerical, data entry, janitorial, and building maintenance.
