Volunteers of America, Dakotas’ West Oak Crisis Diversion program has the capacity to offer crisis consulting and respite care services in certain instances when a person, supported by an ATC in South Dakota, is in crisis and may be at risk of losing their community-based placement. Services aim to reduce the possibility for long term treatment at a more restrictive location. The program provides 30-45 days to asses the individual’s needs and allow a team of experts to consult with and support the referral agency.
