  Volunteers of America, Dakotas' West Oak program serves adolescent and adult males who have developmental disabilities and behavioral/emotional or psychiatric disorders. The South Dakota Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities, has certified the program as an Adjustment Training Center. As such, the Division of Developmental Disabilities periodically reviews West Oak for home and community based services certification and compliance with the Administrative Rules of South Dakota.  In October, 2006 West Oak received the highest level of National certification available from the Council on Quality & Leadership.

West Oak service components include:

  • Residential Services
  • Independent Living Training
  • Educational Services
  • Vocational Training Services
  • Therapeutic and Psychiatric Services (individual, group, and family)
