Preventing Unemployment

One of the most common problems faced by the adults served by Volunteers of America, Dakotas is finding and retaining employment that supports self-sufficiency.  Often low-wage workers find that the labor market simply does not offer them a way out of poverty.  Although many left the welfare rolls to move into jobs, their standard of living did not improve, and they remain unable to meet basic needs.

Through education, training and support services, our employment and training programs help prepare individuals for better-paying positions that enables them to lead safe and secure lives.  Programs include employment counseling, work readiness, education and literacy, computer training, and employment/work experience programs.

The fruit derived from labor is the sweetest of all pleasures.
