Volunteers of America’s Southeastern Prevention Resource Center dedicates its efforts to reducing the incidence of violence, alcohol/other drug abuse, and tobacco use through the delivery of prevention services such as:
- Website with online resource guide
- Technical assistance for program development
- Resource library of videos, DVDs, curricula, and books
- Training for students, professionals, and parents
- Assistance to schools in the area of Safe and Drug-Free Schools
- Assistance to schools through training in the prevention of violence, alcohol and drugs
- Resource to community and parent groups in the development of prevention programs
- Educational forums, councils, and networks
Resources include research monographs, videos, posters, reference books, speaker’s bureau, program ideas, and a monthly newsletter. The PRC also provides technical assistance on prevention activities to schools, professionals, community groups, parents and youth.
