Fight Poverty With Passion

AmeriCorps*VISTA is a national service program dedicated to eliminating poverty by helping individuals and low-income neighborhoods make positive changes for themselves. As an AmeriCorps*VISTA member, you will solve problems and help transform lives by sharing your time, skills, energy and enthusiasm with communities that need it the most.

Service is full-time for one year. Your assignments may involve starting new programs, recruiting and training volunteers, writing grant proposals, seeking out sponsorships, planning community meetings, or handing public relations. Whatever the task or challenge, you'll make a lasting difference for low-income communities in need.

By serving through VISTA, you'll gain new skills, friends and experiences—plus you'll get the satisfaction that comes from helping others. During your service, you'll also receive a modest living allowance, health care, and other benefits. And, upon completing your service, you can choose to receive either a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or post-service stipend.

AmeriCorps*VISTA members may be recent college graduates ready for real-world experience, seasoned professionals making career transitions, or recent retirees looking for a place to apply their wisdom.
