Serving Women "At Risk"
In partnership with Be Free Ministries, Volunteers of America, Dakotas is taking the initiative to offer support to "at risk" women. We offer whole-person services for mind, body and spirit to empower and enrich the lives of the individuals and families impacted by exploitation or incarceration.
Breaking Free Serves...
- Women at risk of exploitation (sex/labor trafficking, bondage)
- Women (with or without children) affected by incarceration in jail or prison
- Caregivers of children whose mother is or has been incarcerated in jail or prison

Statistics
The U.S. State Department estimates that between 14,500 and 17,500 women, children and men are trafficked in the United States annually. Further government studies indicate that women leaving prison with limited resources, and few opportunities or connections, are especially vulnerable and at higher risk of reoffending.
