CHOICES & Family Support Receive Exemplary State Certification

In the month of March our ministry areas of CHOICES and Family Support 360 both received an exemplary State certification, which allows Volunteers of America, Dakotas to continue operating in good standing with the State of South Dakota as a Community Support Provider for the next two years. 

CHOICES serves 90+ people who have been diagnosed with an intellectual developmental disability through both residential and day services. Family Support 360 is a ministry serving 200 families with a member with an intellectual developmental disability. Through our coordinators, we assist the families in overcoming a variety of obstacles, allowing the family member with a disability to remain in their home. 

The certification review was a week long and included five state employees reviewing our policies and settings.
