HomePlace Update

A year ago, we started on a $3.5 million journey to build a new facility to serve the growing population of homeless youth in Sioux Falls. Today, thanks to a few dynamic community leaders and the efforts of many other volunteers, the dream of HomePlace is taking shape. We are excited to share the following progress updates:

  • Over the past several months we have hosted multiple Lunch & Learn sessions to provided education on HomePlace and our campaign.
  • On April 25th, 2018 we were informed that the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Community Appeals Committee selected the HomePlace Campaign for their November 2018 community appeals spot. Our campaign is set at a $1.25 million goal.
  • During the 2018 summer months, we will be engaging with faith communities and inviting them to invest in HomePlace.
  • As of today, we have raised $1.5 million towards the campaign – bringing us to 44% of our $3.5 million goal!

We look forward to seeing our community rally together to better serve homeless youth. Please be sure to check back for updates on our progress and development. For more information on HomePlace, please reach out to Lucas Peterson at l.peterson@voa-dakotas.org.
