(B) 2007, Grades 6-12, Search Institutes, 137 pages This book offers teachers, counselors, and other caring adults 21 lessons that challenge students in grades 6 through 12 to change the attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate meanness in school. Students will learn to promote kindness, respect, and caring, while discouraging gossip, teasing, bullying, exclusion, and violence. They will know how to effectively stop meanness when they see it, and to do it in a respectful, caring way toward both the victim and the bully. In the end, when students adopt the lessons positive values, they often experience a personal transformation that helps them continue improving school climate long after the lessons are over.
