With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of our beloved Chaplain, Pastor Al Peratt. Pastor Al served our organization with unwavering dedication and made a lasting impact on the lives of many.
I am delighted to share that Mallie Kludt was awarded the Volunteers of America 2022 Leadership Award in Leadership in Administration at our recent National Conference. It is an honor to work with such an incredible individual. The information included in the nomination is impressive, yet just one example of Mallie’s commitment to our ministry.
I would like to start off by saying how thankful I am to be given the opportunity to be a part of the Axis180 program. Axis180 program gave me a stable environment to thrive and focus on myself. Most of all it gave me hope when I was at my all-time low.
How much of a role do nutrition and health play on a child’s academic success? Nutrition is actually a vital piece of the brain development puzzle. Providing and promoting healthy foods makes a difference in children’s educational outcomes.
Families across our community know how COVID-related school closures impacted students’ learning, and now we’re beginning to see the full extent of this impact. Volunteers of America, Dakotas’ out-of-school time programs are helping students make up for this loss by providing tutoring and homework help afterschool.
In August 2017, Volunteers of America, Dakotas set out to give young people experiencing homelessness a new place to call home.
Kids at Volunteers of America, Dakotas Child Care got a special visit from 5 Star Cutz ‘N’ Salon recently! Tyrone Wilson, owner of the Sioux Falls-based salon, came to the child care center to give free haircuts to the children there.
