VOA Dakotas Residential Services support adults ages 18 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities who may also experience behavioral, emotional, or mental health challenges. As a certified Community Support Provider through the South Dakota, VOA Dakotas provides individualized support that empowers individuals to build skills, pursue personal goals, and participate in their communities.
Our Residential Services offer a variety of supported living opportunities designed to meet each person’s unique strengths, needs, and level of independence. Individuals may live in homes or apartments while working alongside trained staff to develop daily living skills, increase self-sufficiency, and achieve meaningful personal outcomes. In addition to residential support, services may include independent living training, educational services, and therapeutic and psychiatric services.
VOA Dakotas supports individuals to build confidence and develop independence through personalized support and opportunities to live a healthy, fulfilling life.
The South Dakota Department of Human Services Division of Developmental Disabilities has certified the program as a Community Support Provider. As such, the division periodically reviews CHOICES for home- and community-based services certification and compliance with the administrative rules of South Dakota. CHOICES continues to receive the highest levels of national certifications available from The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) and The Council on Accreditation (COA).
