Volunteers of America, Dakotas offers affordable services including assessments, individual and group counseling, mediation, and crisis intervention available to youth, adults, couples, and families. Medicaid and most insurances are accepted. A sliding fee scale is available, thanks to the support of United Way.

Trauma-Focused Treatment
VOA Dakotas offers Trauma-Focused Treatment designed for children and adolescents ages 4-17 and their families who have been impacted by difficult and confusing events with a focus on those who have experienced multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and/or COVID-related trauma. Treatment can be delivered at our location or via telehealth.
During Trauma-Focused Treatment, an initial screening and assessment will take place to determine if services are appropriate. Therapists will develop a treatment plan tailored to the needs and circumstances of each youth who qualifies. This service can address a multitude of circumstances including:
- COVID-related trauma
- Physical, sexual and emotional abuse
- Witness of violence
- Household incarceration
- Family substance abuse or mental illness
- Parent separation or divorce
- Medical, Grief or Refugee Trauma
- Bullying, Neglect, Disasters and more
