The 1896 Society

Foundation Story

Foundation StorySince 1896, Volunteers of America has been called by the Gospel to guide people to live healthy and fulfilling lives.  In living out this mission, the organization has become one of the largest nonprofits in the United States. Today, the need for our ministry of services remains strong, and we invite you to join us in believing in tomorrow.
The 1896 Society celebrates those who demonstrate a meaningful financial commitment to the future of our organization. Reflecting the belief that a dedicated group of individuals can make a special contribution that will help people for many years to come, the 1896 Society brings together individuals with leadership, ability, experience and influence to support the mission of Volunteers of America, Dakotas with their financial gifts.
