Curriculum, Hazelden Lifelines, Grades 5-12
This curriculum is part of a comprehensive suicide awareness and responsiveness program that covers prevention, intervention, and postvention for schools that serve students grades 5-12. This edition promotes current and best practices, provides clear step-by-step guidance on how to perform an assessment interview with a student suspected to be at risk for suicide. Staff will learn how to gather collateral information about the student, how to involve parents and guardians in the intervention, and how to make referrals to an outside community resource. It also includes detailed information on specific populations of students who may have an increased risk for suicide, including bullied students, member of sexual minorities, and students in gifted education programs. This curriculum is accompanied by a DVD.
