Curriculum, Olweus
This curriculum uses the renowned Olweus Bullying Prevention Program to reduce and prevent bullying, improve school climate, and support student well-being. Engaging students in the classroom is a core-part of this program. More Class Meetings that Matter is a follow-up to the Class Meetings that Matter manual which helps schools extend their class meeting efforts. In addition to bullying-related topics, there is a special focus on disability awareness. The meetings in part three of this manual help students understand what disabilities are (both visible and invisible), promote acceptance of all students, and aim to reduce the right rates of bullying behavior experienced by students with disabilities. Other topics covered include: building a positive classroom climate, building relationships, respecting differences and promoting acceptance, and communication.
