2014 (DVD), CC, Grades 7-College, 21 minutes, HRM. This DVD focuses on five teens who prove that it is possible to bounce back from painful events and hard times. Their stories show the challenges of eating disorders, family member’s illness, stress and depression in young people who were able to learn to carry on successfully. A psychologist offers specific advice on steps that a person can take to build resilience, including seeking help and support from others, nurturing positive self image, looking for opportunities for self-discovery, and developing realistic goals. This program includes the 21 minute film, a 23 page teacher’s resource book (PDF) with blackline master students activities, fact sheets and learning objectives.
